HVAC Service Technician

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance on heating and cooling systems to ensure their efficiency and longevity.

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems, including furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, and ventilation systems.

  • Inspect and test HVAC equipment to identify issues and recommend appropriate solutions.

  • Clean and replace filters, coils, and other components to improve system performance.

  • Perform routine inspections to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

  • Install, replace, or upgrade HVAC systems and components, following manufacturer specifications and local building codes.

  • Calibrate and program HVAC control systems, thermostats, and other devices for optimal performance.

  • Handle refrigerants safely when servicing air conditioning units.

  • Document all work performed, including maintenance, repairs, and installations, for record-keeping and billing purposes.

  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating with clients, explaining issues, and offering maintenance tips.

  • Educate clients on energy-efficient practices and recommend upgrades to improve system efficiency.

  • Stay current with industry trends, technology advancements, and safety regulations through continuous training.

  • Collaborate with other HVAC technicians and team members on complex projects.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including tools and equipment.

  • Participate in on-call rotation schedules for emergency HVAC services outside of regular business hours.

  • Uphold safety standards and protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment.

  • Comply with company policies and procedures, including timekeeping and reporting.

  • Mentor and assist junior technicians or apprentices when necessary.


Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience as an HVAC Technician or a related field

  • Familiarity with OHS regulations and a commitment to workplace safety

  • A clean driver's abstract and a valid driver's license

  • A clean background check

  • Provincial Journeyman HVAC

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and troubleshooting techniques

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics

  • Proficiency in using HVAC tools and equipment

  • Familiarity with local building codes and safety regulations

  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate diagnosis and repair

  • Safety-conscious mindset with a commitment to following safety guidelines

  • Physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy equipment and materials

  • Must be authorized to work in Canada
